Jenna lives just outside of Calgary, Alberta, and has recently completed her Bachelor of Arts in Humanities. In addition, she he has extensive training and experience in piano and grew up participating in a children’s choir as a chorister and later accompanying the choir as well. Since 2011, she has been with the Kairos Young Singers, formerly the Rocky Mountain College Children and Youth Choirs, working as the assistant conductor under the direction of Erica Phare-Bergh and singing with the Youth Choir. She is blessed to have experienced the teamwork and connection that comes from being a part of other incredible choirs and vocal groups, including the Alberta Youth Choir, and is excited to provide the choral opportunity to other children, helping them develop vocally, personally, and spiritually.
An actor, dancer and choreographer, originally from British Columbia, Jacqueline holds a Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Trinity Western University. She has over twenty years of training in dance and movement and an extensive background in performance, teaching, and choreography. In addition, she co-founded Les Petite Taquines Dance Theatre in Vancouver with whom she danced and choreographed for three seasons, and has worked as a soloist, choreographer, and ensemble member in tours across Western Canada and the States. Most recently, she was able to perform in a new devised piece “Impulse” at the International Prague Quadrennial in the Czech Republic. She also loves to teach and has worked at studios across BC and Alberta, including Arts Umbrella, Susan Paisley Academy of Dance, and Tree House Youth Theatre. Jacqueline is excited to be joining the team at Westview Arts Academy as she loves to share the freedom of expression through movement with others.
Siobhan received her Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from the University of Calgary in Collaboration with the Alberta Ballet School of Dance. She has trained intensively with The Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, The Royal Academy of Dance, The Banff Arts Centre, York University and with various teachers in eastern Europe. She has received numerous scholarships for artistic promise and excellence including from The Royal Academy of Dance, The BC Festival of the Arts, Banff Arts Centre and University of Calgary’s Dance faculty. She went on to study at Fuller Theological Seminary and pursued dance as a means to contemplate and express her faith in God. She’s worked on numerous productions using dance, art and theatre as an outreach ministry on University Campuses in Western Canada and California. After having two of her four children she went on to dance professionally with Corps Bara Dance Theatre for their 2009-2010 season. The past seven years she has served as artistic director with The Arts Abbey. She is very excited to join and support Westview Arts Academy and see dance explored as an instrument to honour and express God’s heart!
Lauren de Graaf
Lauren grew up in rural Alberta and graduated from Rosebud School of The Arts in 2014. While there, she co-wrote Wildwood Fire, which she’s since toured around Alberta and performed at the Saskatoon Fringe! Lauren is also a proud member of the folk bluegrass jazz trio, The Dearhearts, with whom she has toured North America. She is grateful to have been a part of Rosebud Theatre’s productions of May & Joe, Chickens, and A Wind in the Willows: Christmas in Rosebud. She is thrilled and honoured to be an instructor at Westview Arts Academy and must thank her loving family, amazing friends, and The Good Lord above for this adventure called life.
Cam has a Bachelor of Music in Composition from the University of Calgary. He has been living and teaching in the Calgary area for 20 years and has performed in many bands, ensembles, worship teams, and on numerous recordings. Cam began learning to play the violin when he was four years old, piano in grade three, and guitar in his teens. As a student of composition, Cam has learned how to write for many different instruments in many different contexts and styles.
Elaine is an artist and teacher who has been blessed to live and work in many different locales across North America. She is originally from Ohio where she attained her Bachelor of Arts in English and Secondary Education with an art minor from Muskingum University. Since graduating in 1998, she has worked as a junior high and high school teacher, a theatre and visual artist, and a missionary with Wycliffe Bible Translators. Highlights of her career include travelling Canada from coast to coast with Spread the Word Theatre, a ministry of Wycliffe Bible Translators and living and working in the NYC area for four years. On a personal level, she is blessed to be the wife of a very talented theatre artist and the mother of two creative and beautiful girls. Elaine is excited to be teaching for Westview Arts Academy and is full of expectancy for what God will do through this new ministry.
James is a theatre artist and instructor who resides in Cochrane, Alberta, with his family. He has worked extensively with youth and children and believes that the artistic process and Christian discipleship provide a rich environment for personal growth. He has a BA in Christian Ministry, a BFA in Drama, and a MFA in Theatre Studies. James has taught at the University of Calgary, Rocky Mountain College, Quest Theatre, Evergreen Theatre, Pumphouse Theatre and various camps across the province. Creation credits include Twinkle, Hockey Dad: A Play in Three Periods, Peddling Parables, Sackcloth, Solo Joe and award winning Inheritance. In 2007, James founded Burnt Thicket Theatre, a company dedicated to enlivening audiences through original performance. He holds a MFA from the University of Calgary where he studied Solo Performance Creation. James has also worked in various ministries in pastoral or missional positions.
Johanna is originally from Scotland where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Contemporary dance. Johanna grew up as a missionary kid in YWAM (Youth with a Mission). After completing university, she went back into missions to work with a dance company called GX International, a non-profit organization that brings the Truth in a relevant way to youth and adults of all cultures. Johanna met her husband, who is also a dancer, on a dance tour in Brazil. They moved to Calgary three years ago, and ten months ago were blessed with their newest addition to their family, a baby boy. Elliot is keeping Johanna pretty busy these days, but she is excited to resume teaching dance this fall for the Westview ARTS Academy.
Lennette is originally from Sierra Leone, Africa. She has most recently added Calgary to her list of homes which include Rosebud, Alberta; the United Kingdom; the United States and Sierra Leone.
Lennette received her Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Applied Communication from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. She is also a Fellow of Rosebud School of the Arts.
Lennette has extensive further training from the New York Film Academy, Los Angeles; Shakespeare & Company, Lenox, Massachusetts; The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts; and the British American Drama Academy, Oxford, UK.
Lennette has a variety of experience in performing (acting, singing & dancing), choreographing, creating, writing and directing. Her theatre and stage performance and creative collaborations include Rosebud Theatre, Theatre Calgary, The National Arts Centre, Downstage Theatre, The Shakespeare Company, The Canadian Badlands Passion Play, Ellipsis Tree Collective, Storybook Theatre, Quest Theatre, Kaleidoscope Theatre, Rosebud Children’s Choir, Covenant Creations, University of Newcastle Christian Union Theatre (UNCUT), and Wellspring Dance and Drama Teams.
Lennette is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and experiences, with the hope of infusing, nurturing and activating creativity in the lives of her students.
